The First Act of VAPA: Kick-off Meeting in Graz

This week in Graz, Austria, we officially launched the Virtual Academy for Performing Artists (VAPA) with a two-day kick-off meeting filled with creative energy, in-depth discussions, and many new ideas.

Together with our partners, we explored the entire project structure — from the training programmes and workshops to the production of theatre and puppetry performances, as well as the mentoring approach and the development of entrepreneurial skills among young artists. We carefully defined the next steps, timeline, and division of responsibilities to ensure that each project result is implemented with high quality.

The VAPA project aims to provide young theatre practitioners with structured training, hands-on experience, and opportunities for professional growth in the fields of social theatre, puppetry, and creative entrepreneurship.

Project Partners:

  • Theater am Lend – Austria
  • Creative House / Креативна Куќа – Macedonia
  • MTÜ Cirsium – Estonia
  • Instituto Ikigai – Spain
  • Teatro Due Mondi Associazione Culturale – Italy

Each partner brings valuable expertise from the theatrical, cultural, and educational sectors — enabling VAPA to offer innovative programmes, new approaches, and strong support for young artists across Europe.

With this kick-off meeting, we have laid the foundation for a creative, productive, and inspiring two-year collaboration. We look forward to the upcoming activities, events, and performances that will emerge from this project — all contributing to a richer cultural landscape and new opportunities for young talents.
